Nadia Latif is a theatremaker and film director.
Her theatre career has included work for the Almeida, Donmar, Royal Shakespeare Company, National and Bush theatres.
She trained as a director at RADA under Bill Gaskill. From 2018 to 2020, she was Associate Director of the Young Vic Theatre, during which she directed Jackie Sibblies-Drury’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play Fairview. Nadia and Sibblies-Drury followed that up in 2022 with a production of Marys Seacole at the Donmar Warehouse.
Her first short film, White Girl was funded by the BFI and screened in competition at the 2019 LFF. In 2020, she directed a short sci-fi film for Film4, They Heard Him Shout Allahu Akbar. In 2019, she was one of Screen International’s Stars of Tomorrow, and in 2020 she was a Sundance Screenwriters Lab fellow.
She has completed her debut feature film, The Man in My Basement, starring Corey Hawkins and Willem Dafoe, and has other films in development with Film4, LuckyChap and Home Team.
